Us
The Cackling Witch is a shop, established in November 2022, to honour and remember the Pendle Witches of 1612, who we believe were ordinary people, healers and herbalists going about their everyday life, who were wrongly accused and persecuted.
Hello, my name is Lindsay, I am the face behind the Cackling Witch, this part is about me. Firstly, I was born in Footscray, Australia in 1971, I am the youngest of six. I have always had an interest in the paranormal and witches.
My earliest memory of the paranormal was when I lived in Australia, I was probably about seven years old and I attended the Spiritualist Church with my Mum, Dad and Siblings. I remember en route to the Spiritual Church we would stop and my Mum and Dad would pick a flower, I was always puzzled as to why they did this then one day I noticed the lady on the stage, she was a Clairvoyant and she would take the flower from a paper bag and started talking…

…I watched in awe as the Clairvoyant gave readings, this is definitely when my love for the paranormal started.
One of my encounters with the paranormal was when I was at secondary school. We were told to do a five-minute talk for our English exam about something we were interested in, my interest was obviously the paranormal.
I took my mum’s crystal ball as a visual aid, I talked and talked, I had a captured audience, especially as the books on the shelf fell off scaring the pupils and the teachers alike. My talk lasted thirty minutes.
As I grew up my mum did psychic readings and a normal Saturday night consisted of us sat around the dining room table using the Ouija Board. For many years the paranormal had been considered as quite a taboo subject. I enjoy helping people to communicate with loved ones and give them closure and peace.
The Cackling Witch is a shop where people feel comfortable to discuss their experiences that can’t be explained.
